i'm looking at installing vmware server(free) on fedora core 5 to run photoshop CS2(Windows Version)...

I have a P2 2.8ghz MAchine... with 2gb of RAM... I intend to allocate 1gb Ram to VMWare.

The only progs I plan to run are Photoshop & Illustrator, powering up the vmware server when needed....

What are peoples experiencs with running VMWare/XP/Photoshop

I look forward to your experience and advice

kind regards

i expect it will be fine, using vmware workstation i find that the virtual machines run about 90% of full speed, if you have a decent disk - personally i stored my virtual machines on a dedicated sata drive, not the boot (ide) drive.

please note though, vmware server is a beta at the moment, therefore it runs slower as it has debugging enabled, they turn off debugging in the release candidate and obviously final versions.
