i'd suggest that you update your kernel to the latest and then install the madwifi-kmdl for it. if you upgrade your kernel you will also need to install your nvidia, ati, ntfs and ndiswrapper drivers if you have any of those but everything should still work fine

to upgrade only your kernel run this. yum install kernel-2.6.15-1.1831_FC4 kernel-devel-2.6.15-1.1831_FC4
then do u have the atrpms or livna repos added? it's best not to use atrpms. reboot into the latest kernel and if you have atrpms you can run this yum install madwifi-kmdl-$(uname -r) and if you have livna run this yum install kernel-module-madwifi-$(uname -r) once again it's best not to be using atrpms. if you don't have either create the file /etc/yum.repos.d/livna.repo and add this to it [livna]
name=Fedora Core 4 - i386 - livna
baseurl=http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/RPMS.lvn
failovermethod=priority
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http://rpm.livna.org/RPM-LIVNA-GPG-KEY and install madwifi with the livna command above, after doing that you can run system-config-network and set up your card

to start you can download these rpms and try installing them, start with the kernel one. if you get any dependencies try looking for there here (http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/updates/4/i386/)
