Fixing stuff that broke with kernel upgrade...

I just updated to 2.6.15-1.1833_FC4... and a whole host of things went batty.

First, I need to update my nvidia kernel module... none of my repositories in yum have an updated module for this kernel.. how do I go about compiling a new one myself?

I am also having similar problems with the ntfs kernel module. I can no longer access my ntfs volumes. I can see them, I just can't read them.

Any clues folks?

Thanks in advance.

it takes livna about a day or say to release the nvidia, ati, madwifi, ntfs, ndiswrapper and every other kernel module for a new kernel, so simply wait a day or two, then use yum to install nvidia and ntfs and all should be good, until then you can continue to use your old kernel and it'll work just fine. select it at the boot screen

Ooops... I goofed... seems I've broken video support in my old kernel by trying to fix it in my new.. So booting to the old kernel version dosen't help. This is what I get for being impatient.. LOL

Got my Cam and Ntfs going again, just had to re-make the cam module and re-install... as for the ntfs.. the creator's website had a FC4 kernel module in RPM format.. YAY...

Still no dice on the video card yet..

You need to update udev to the latest version (udev-071-0.FC4.3) before you can update the kernel.
